Everton player Henry Onyekuru has spoken to Hurriyet and confirmed he wants to stay at Galatasaray.
Onyekuru spent last season at Gala where he had a lot of success, winning the domestic cup and league double with the Istanbul club.
The Nigerian winger said he’s very happy with winning the title with and now he wants Champions League football: “My desire is to stay at Galatasaray. If Everton listen to me, then I will gladly stay at this great club. But of course, this is something which can be decided between the two clubs.”
Onyekuru has also said he’s happy that he performed well last season after a long injury layoff, and wants to continue his great form at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Everton loanee also said he idolises Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and that’s the reason he wears the no.21 jersey.
Everton now have a decision to make over the 21 year old and it could depend on his work permit status. The Toffees have in the past failed to get the player a permit leading in loan moves to Anderlecht and Gala.
There have also been reports Everton could sell him outright with Bayern Munich said to be interested.
