Most of Tuesday’s newspapers in Portugal today talk about the future of Tomas Araujo, who could leave Benfica at the end of the transfer window.

The defender isn’t expected to have a place in the starting team, and his exit is seen as a suitable solution for all parties involved.

It turns out that while most of the Portuguese media doesn’t know where Araujo will land next, Correio da Manhã claim it’s Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The newspaper feature a short story claiming the centre-back will play for Wolves for one season, with the Molineux side also holding a buying option over him.

That’s all they have to say, plain and simple.

What makes it curious is that Record, for example, feature a page-long story on the defender, claiming there are clubs from England, Spain and Germany who are interested in him, and they don’t even give Wolves a mention.

That’s why we may have to be a little careful before buying this story, but Wolves fans should get prepared to see the club signing the 21-year-old in the final days of the summer window.
