On Thursday, we covered a piece from Portuguese newspaper O Jogo which talked about Bruno Viana’s chance to show himself off in the Europa League.

It was claimed that Leicester City have scouted the defender for two years, and even made some approaches for a possible signing.

The move never happened, and now as Braga would face the Foxes at the King Power Stadium, that’d be his chance to prove himself against them.

Well, Leicester City ended up winning the match 4-0, and Viana didn’t have his best performance, so what happened was pretty much the opposite.

Newspaper O Jogo rated the Brazilian with a 4 out of 10, and wrote: “Whether Iheanacho or Maddison the problems were always of great importance for the central defender, whose failures cost his team two goals.”

Meanwhile, Record went heavier on him, handing out a 1 out of 5, and stated: “Strangely passive in the play of the first goal, little luck in the deflect that betrayed Matheus in the second and watching the ball pass in the origin of the third of the English. In the fourth, the cut was an assist for Maddison.”

Braga are playing Leicester City again on the 26th of November, so perhaps Viana will have a chance to redeem himself by then. For now, it doesn’t really look like the Foxes will rush for his signing after seeing that performance.
