Late on Tuesday, we covered a couple of claims from France stating that Crystal Palace were suddenly interested in Paris Saint-Germain’s Hugo Ekitike.

The young striker has been struggling for game time since his move from Stade de Reims, and is a player the Ligue 1 side would ideally get rid of if possible, but the right offer hasn’t arrived yet.

The idea would be to use him as part of a deal to sign Randal Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt, but Ekitike isn’t happy about that idea, which has opened the door for Crystal Palace to make their move, according to Le Parisien.

The newspaper explained on Tuesday that an offer was expected to be on its way from Selhurst Park, and their print edition on Wednesday reveals that it has arrived.

They report that Crystal Palace have ‘transmitted an offer of a loan with an option to buy’, but it remains to be seen whether this will be considered by Paris Saint-Germain, who are ‘waiting for a second offer coming from another Premier League side’.

We can only guess that to be West Ham, who were known to be keen on the striker, although the fact they are not named despite the interest already out there could also mean another club is working in the shadows.

Either way, Crystal Palace have made their bid and now we wait.
