Crystal Palace would like to ‘take the next step’ in their pursuit of Club Brugge’s Raphael Onyedika, according to claims from Africa.
The defensive midfielder has been a regular for the Jupiler Pro League side this season, scoring four goals and registering two assists from 42 games. His performances have caught the attention of the Eagles and other clubs.
That’s at least what Africa Foot United are reporting, and they add that Crystal Palace watched him live in action recently.
Nottingham Forest and Everton are also monitoring the 23-year-old, while Galatasaray have asked for information about a deal. Despite the interest from these clubs, the website states Oliver Glasner’s side seem to have the upper hand in the transfer race.
It’s claimed Crystal Palace are ‘preparing an offer’ for the Nigeria international and intend to send it to the Belgian club in the ‘coming days’.
There’s no mention of the fee they could propose to Club Brugge or if the player is open to making a switch to London, but presumably he is.
Onyedika’s deal lasts until 2027 and he’s currently valued at €8m by Transfermarket, and Africa Foot United claim this figure would be well within Crystal Palace’s reach.
