Tottenham Hotspur currently find themselves fourth in the Premier League table, and in a real battle for a Champions League place next season. Should they succeed in clinching qualification then Antonio Conte will surely have done the job Spurs brought him in for.

Being the type of personality he is, the manager has repeatedly suggested he needs more to be able to be compete with the club. Given the competition from other English sides, Tottenham have a long way to go before they can be considered to be fighting at the top of the table.

To help Conte get where he wants to be, money will need to be spent again in the summer, after investments were already made in the January window.

Stéphane Dalmat played on loan for the club, from Inter Milan, in the 2003/04 season. The Frenchman has been speaking to Spazio Inter, and after praising Conte, he was asked if the manager can be the man to bring a trophy to Tottenham.

Dalmat replied: “In my opinion, Conte is not enough. On paper there’s Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City which are superior. Conte is an excellent coach, but he is not a magician.”

Spurs fans will be hoping the manager sticks around, gets backed in the market, and is able to prove Dalmat wrong.
