Flamengo ‘will resume talks’ with Manchester United for the transfer of Alex Telles, according to reports.

Outlet Torcedores is the one explaining the whole situation today, highlighting that the talks for the fullback’s move to Benfica are now over.

It was the same outlet who had previously reported the Eagles’ interest in Telles. Soon after their claims, the Portuguese media showed up to say the Lisbon side never had the Manchester United player in their plans.

Torcedores now comes up with their version of the story, where they say Benfica went as far as having an agreement with the Red Devils to sign the player for €6m.

The problem was that Manchester United backed down and tried to change the agreed terms.

The parties were supposed to have a video meeting on Wednesday evening, but hours earlier, agent Giuliano Bertolucci and the Premier League club told Benfica the player had given up on the move, which angered Eagles president Rui Costa.

Now, according to Torcedores, that opens the way for Flamengo, and their vice-president Marcos Braz ‘will resume talks’ with Manchester United for the transfer as their manager, Jorge Sampaoli, wants a left-back with experience added to the team.
