Rayan Aït-Nouri has made 27 league starts for Wolverhampton Wanderers since he joined them from Angers SCO in the summer of 2021.
On October 2nd, Wolves sacked Bruno Lage and the left-back has made only one league start since then. Hugo Bueno is preferred ahead of him and the Spaniard has maintained his place after Julen Lopetegui arrived last month.
Three days ago, Foot Mercato explained Aït-Nouri is ready to leave the English club and OGC Nice are very interested in signing him in the winter market.
This is relayed by Le10 Sport, who now state the Ligue 1 side’s interest in the 21-year-old is ‘very real’.
It’s further claimed Nice are discussing a potential transfer with Wolves. Lopetegui’s side are open to letting him leave and to do that, they ‘want a lot of money’.
According to the report, Aït-Nouri’s exit from Wolves is unlikely to cost less than €25m.
This makes any potential operation ‘complicated’ because it is difficult for the French club to meet this asking price. Therefore, the operation is unlikely to take shape in January.
The Wolves left-back, for his part, will continue to look at the approaches he receives from other clubs.
