Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi’s move to Bayer Leverkusen is ‘on the home stretch’, according to Sky Deutschland.

Gerardo Seoane, the Bundesliga side’s manager, was keen to bring in a new winger following injury setbacks to Amine Adli and Karim Bellarabi. This is where the 21-year-old comes into the picture.

He was an unused substitute in Chelsea’s last two league games, and the report says the player is not included in Thomas Tuchel’s plans going forward this campaign.

A move to Germany is likely to improve the England international’s playing time.

It’s claimed the ‘last details are still to be clarified’ and then the deal could go through this week. As per Sky, this is linked to the ‘exact modalities’ of the loan deal.

Marlon Irlbacher was one of the journalists who covered the report for Sky. He has taken to Twitter to provide more information on this case. Irlbacher states Leverkusen want to sign Hudson-Odoi on loan with an option to buy.

The Chelsea player’s high market value of €25m could make this difficult. The temporary transfer is likely to go through because Irlbacher also explains the ‘last details are to be clarified’.
