According to reports in Italy, there are problems with Jerry Mbakogu’s move to Leeds United with regards to documentation.
The Carpi forward has been linked with move to Leeds United in recent days, following reports the Championship side have an agreement in principle to sign the 25 year old.
TMW have reported via Italian TV station SportItalia there’s an issue with Mbakogu’s documents, which is likely to be his passport. Carpi are ‘working for the sale’ of the player to Leeds, but this is said to be a hurdle in the way.
It’s claimed the Carpi player could have problems entering England, although it does tie in with reports Mbakogu will remain in Italy for the rest of the season, before eventually moving to Leeds United.
Transfermarket are under the assumption Mbakogu holds an Italian passport after arriving in the country as a youngster from Nigeria, whilst reports in Italy say he’s in the process of obtaining one.
Despite these reports from SportItalia it’s likely a deal can still be done with Leeds United, which will see the forward loaned back to Carpi until the summer.
There have been reports the English side have an agreement with Mbakogu, and that a transfer fee has been agreed between the two clubs.
