ASpor report Fenerbahce are considering making a move for Emmanuel Adebayor to replace Leicester City loanee Islam Slimani.

Slimani joined the Istanbul club on loan from Leicester City in the last summer transfer window.

The Algerian striker is currently struggling at Fenerbahce, and ASpor say the Super Lig club are looking to bring in Adebayor, who’s expected to leave league leaders Basaksehir due to a lack of playing time.

According to Aspor, if Fenerbahce manage to sign Adebayor they will try to send Slimani back to Leicester City. However, it’s not known if there’s a clause in the contract which would allow the Yellow Canaries to break their agreement with the Foxes.

Fenerbahce have also been linked with a move for Cardiff City’s Kenneth Zohore in recent weeks, due to Slimani’s poor form in his first few months in the Super Lig.

After failing to make an impact during his loan with Newcastle United last season, Slimani was hoping he could change his fortunes in Turkey, but this hasn’t been the case so far.
