As we’ve been covering in the past few months, Brazilian side Fluminense are really in need of money. They haven’t paid players and employees in months, and any amount that reaches to the club is pretty important for their finances.
Coincidentally, two big amounts that Flu got this season are coming from Watford. One of them was a percentage of Richarlison’s transfer to Everton, which has already been paid by the Hornets. The other one is for the transfer of youngster João Pedro, whose paperwork is still being sorted.
Fluminense president Pedro Abad has given a press conference this Tuesday, asking for ‘patience’ from the fans and promising that things should be fine in a week. Among the many topics of the interview, there was João Pedro’s sale.
“Document issues. It’s bureaucracy that’s holding back. We control this to some extent. Our legal team is very quick to respond to what is requested, but our hurry, unfortunately, is often not the same as of the partners. But this time the solution is close,” said Pedro Abad. (via Netflu)
Although many Brazilian clubs report or even leak the amount of big transfers, João Pedro’s sale to Watford continues to be a mystery. The youngster should move to the Premier League side in 2020 once he turns 18.
