Borussia Dortmund are eyeing a move for Aston Villa youngster Carney Chukwuemeka, who they believe could be the next Jude Bellingham.
That’s according to Der Westen, who say the German side are ‘eyeing’ a move for the youngster as his contract expires next summer.
They explain that Dortmund ‘smell their chance’ with Chukwuemeka and the opportunity to sign a player who already closely resembles Bellingham.
Both are ‘damn young’, feel ‘most comfortable as a number eight’ and have ‘similar size and build’. Chukwuemeka is also considered one of England’s ‘most talented youngsters’.
It’s because of this that Dortmund are keen, but so are Bayern and ‘the big clubs’ in the Premier League, with all of them ‘watching’ the talented midfielder.
A key attraction is that his contract expires in the summer of 2023, and while Aston Villa are keen to extend his stay, the 18-year-old is still hesitating.
He doesn’t want to make a final decision until the summer, and that opens the doors for the likes of Dortmund, who are watching proceedings in case they can get a bargain deal for their next Bellingham.
