French side Auxerre have ‘reached an agreement’ with Nottingham Forest striker Nuno Da Costa about a transfer this summer.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who say an agreement on a two-year deal with an option of a third is on the table for the 31-year-old.

They explain that Da Costa is in the final year of his deal with Steve Cooper’s side, with his current contract set to expire next summer.

He does not appear to be part of Nottingham Forest’s plans moving forwards after spending the last two years out on loan, first with Mouscron and then with Caen last year.

Auxerre are keen to take him back to France this summer and have now reached an agreement with the forward on a two-year deal with the option of a third.

There is no mention of a deal being in place with Nottingham Forest but the newspaper does state that Da Cost ‘was linked’ to them until 2023.

That suggests there may be a free transfer on the cards and Forest would be willing to come to some sort of agreement with the player. That, though, is just us reading between the lines here.

Either way, with an agreement in place with the 31-year-old, this transfer looks set to pick up pace sooner rather than later.
