Mateusz Klich made 37 appearances last season for Leeds United, and was certainly a well used member of the squad for both Marcelo Bielsa and Jesse Marsch.

The 32-year-old moved to Elland Road from FC Twente in 2017 and has built up a good reputation with the club’s supporters. He has a contract lasting until June 2024, but claims from Poland state he wants to leave the club this summer.

Meczyki report Klich is ‘determined’ to secure a transfer before the end of the window, because he wants to be a regular starter for a club ahead of the Qatar World Cup later this year.

He’s had an up and down time with the Polish national national team, and clearly wants to make sure he’s selected for an important role by Czesław Michniewicz.

According to the report, Kilch is now ‘close to leaving’ Leeds United and securing a move back to the Netherlands. FC Utrecht, who he’s previously played for, are the club named as the destination.

The suggestion is that he’d leave on loan, after comments from Marsch prompted the belief Klich won’t be an important player in the coming season.
