Following the return of Dean Henderson to Manchester United and Keylor Navas to Paris Saint-Germain, Nottingham Forest are in need of a goalkeeper.

They have tried around Europe with a few bids, but they haven’t managed to get anyone to agree to their offers just yet.

With that in mind, seeing them turn their attention to a new name, in this case Royal Antwerp’s Jean Butez, according to Sacha Tavolieri, isn’t surprising.

The journalist took to Twitter to reveal that the Frenchman is now ‘part of the shortlist’ at Nottingham Forest for the goalkeeper role.

It’s recalled Butez was a ‘concrete target’ for Burnley earlier this window, and he has been ‘put on the transfer market’ for the summer transfer window.

The Belgian side ‘wish to sell’ him to be able to reinvest the money in other targets, and there is seemingly hope that Nottingham Forest will come forward.

Butez himself admitted earlier in the transfer window that he wouldn’t mind leaving this summer if the right opportunity arose, coming off a season where he kept 27 clean sheets in 52 games, conceding 42 goals.
