Earlier today, we’ve covered a report from Brazil which said Corinthians have made an approach for the signing of Willian from Chelsea.

Website Meu Timão said the winger’s former club wanted to know about the possibility of a move, but were turned down by him.

And it turns out that on Thursday night, Corinthians president Andres Sanchez talked about the possibility of this transfer.

The official has been interviewed by Fox Sports, and was asked about the comeback of a few stars such as Willian and Jô. He claimed they have ‘open doors’ at the club, with a special mention for the Chelsea player.

“If Willian wants to return to Brazil, his priority is Corinthians,” Andres Sanchez told Fox Sports (via Lance).

“Corinthians would go after him. He would receive a little more than we pay, but less than he receives today. He can’t make much more than Cássio and Fagner, who are also national team players. I don’t agree with paying R$1.5m for one player and R$500k for another. I don’t think it’s fair.”

In several interviews with the Brazilian media, Willian has always claimed he doesn’t fancy a return to his home country, both because he likes to live in Europe and because he has options to keep playing there. More recently, he also said he dislikes the way players are treated in Brazil.
