Everybody, ranging from Newcastle United fans, the Sport Witness team and the player himself, are getting a bit frustrated at the Sven Botman situation.

The Dutchman has been a target for the Magpies since January, but they have encountered competition from Milan; a club the defender would rather join due to their status, Champions League football and history.

The problem for the Italians is Newcastle are prepared to outbid them, while Botman is trying to force a move to the San Siro, which has caused something of a stall.

We’ve seen a lot of articles on the matter of late, with some claiming Newcastle’s pressure to get a deal done is suffocating, and Gazzetta Dello Sport bring their own on Thursday.

While Milan have been after him ‘for some time’, it’s made clear the Magpies ‘are pushing and offering more’.

We all know Botman’s preference, promised a starting spot in the Serie A side by Stefano Pioli, and Gazzetta explain both the player and the Italians ‘are hoping Newcastle will change target’.

This would allow Milan to ‘give the green light to a long-sought operation’, but they are exploring alternatives just in case, with Gleison Bremer mentioned.

As for Botman, his choices appear to be either San Siro or St James’ Park, and we all know where he wants to go… for now.
