Earlier this month, we noticed a couple of articles in Italy had started popping up regarding the future of Arkadiusz Milik that involved Premier League clubs.
Tottenham were a recurring name in these, as they still don’t really have a suitable backup for Harry Kane, which José Mourinho learned the hard way after the England international ended up injured for the second half of the season.
The Poland international would certainly fill that role well, offering much of what the Tottenham striker does, but he would come as a price.
Napoli, who have been unable to tie Milik down to a new deal, are seemingly resigned to the fact they will have to sell him this summer so as to not lose him on a free next year, and have put a relatively expensive asking price on his back.
At €40m, a dialogue can be opened, and if a team comes forward with €50m, a deal would be ‘closed immediately’.
The website explain Milik has a number of suitors, including in the Premier League, whereas Milan in Serie A see him as a potential successor to Zlatan Ibrahimović, should the Swede decide to move on come the end of the season.
For Tottenham, €40m is a reasonable price for a player who has shown he has an eye for goal, but the question we have for him would be whether or not he would be happy to play second fiddle to Harry Kane.
