It’s not only Tottenham Hotspur who are concerned with Harry Kane’s injury. It seems that Athletic Club Bilbao have a good reason to get worried as well.
As reported by local outlet El Correo today, the English star’s absence will have a big impact on Fernando Llorente’s transfer situation.
Athletic are said to be convinced to sign the striker in the January window, but if Spurs already had doubts about selling the Spanish striker before Kane’s injury, the situation got even worse now.
Mauricio Pochettino’s hesitation, as El Correo put it, will now only increase.
El Correo claims that the Basque club ‘must speak with Daniel Levy’ now, who’s well known to be a hard negotiator, so they know it won’t be easy to convince him.
Llorente’s contract expires at the end of the season, and it’s claimed that although Spurs have the option of extending it, they don’t look like they’re doing it. So it’s a matter of taking some money now or losing the player for free in the summer.
El Correo adds that Llorente wants to return and would even ask Spurs to let him go.
