After loan spells at Toulouse and Rayo Vallecano in the last two seasons, Giannelli Imbula has already expressed his desire to leave Stoke City.
The midfielder is not included in Nathan Jones’ plans for this season and has been training with the Potters’ U23 side. Reports in Belgium have talked about interest from Club Brugge, but they are also looking at other targets.
On August 16th, Ouest-France stated the 26-year-old rejected an opportunity to join his former club, En Avant Guingamp, who were relegated to Ligue 2.
According to Soccer Link, the former Porto man has now caught the attention of Turkish side Sivasspor. They have positioned themselves concretely and made a ‘written offer’ for him last month.
Sivasspor’s offer included a net salary of €800,000 for 10 months plus bonuses of around €150,000, if they win a cup competition of qualify for next season’s Champions League.
However, Imbula turned down the offer and he is asking for a higher remuneration.
The report doesn’t specify if Sivasspor have made an improved offer for the player.
