Earlier today, Fanatik journalist Gökmen Özcan reported Rangers’ Rıdvan Yılmaz wants to leave Ibrox in the winter market as he isn’t happy with his role under Philippe Clement.

Özcan had also stated Galatasaray’s approach for the 22-year-old didn’t yield a positive result and Hellas Verona are the most serious option for him. The Istanbul club haven’t given up on the Rangers player, according to the latest claims from Turkey.

TRT Spor state the Turkish champions are interested in the left-back and are aiming to take him away from Philippe Clement’s side through a loan deal with an option to buy.

This claim is backed up Sabah, who provide more details about Galatasaray’s pursuit of the fullback.

The Turkey international’s deal at Ibrox lasts until 2027 and recent claims from Scotland have stated that Rangers will sell him for €4m. Sabah relay that and then state Galatasaray are pushing for a loan deal instead.

Galatasaray are ‘determined’ to strengthen the left-back position this month and Yılmaz is the first name on their target list.

Sabah add the Turkish club’s ‘insistent attitude’ has convinced the Rangers man, who is open to leaving Philippe Clement’s side this month, in order to improve his chances of representing his country at the Euros.

The two reports make no mention of whether Rangers are willing to allow Yılmaz to leave Ibrox through a loan deal.

Right now, the Turkish slant seems optimistic, perhaps overly so. There’s been claims he isn’t getting enough minutes, when he clearly is, and there’s no reasoning for why Rangers should accept a loan deal.
