Bild insist that RB Leipzig have not given up on signing Ademola Lookman from Everton, but know they need fortune on their side to be able to pull off a deal.

Lookman was on loan last season at the Bundesliga club and for much of the summer there’s been a confidence in Germany that a deal can be found on a permanent signing.

That confidence has at times felt like cockiness, with Leipzig’s manager Ralf Rangnick speaking about the potential transfer repeatedly, and the German media insisting it’s what the Everton player wants.

But that cockiness has been shaken recently, as Everton have held firm and refused to budge, not being keen on a sale but considering it at the right price.

Bild say the Premier League club want more than €20m for Lookman, which is considered ‘very expensive’ for the 20 year old.

RB Leipzig want two players brought in this week and Rangnick is quoted as saying he needs “last minute luck” to get the deals done.
