With Martin Skrtel’s future still up in the air, Fenerbahce are in the market for a central defender this summer and Takvim say the Turkish club have been given the chance to sign Watford’s Christian Kabasele.

Skrtel has been linked with Rangers, Olympiacos and Parma in recent weeks, with his contract set to expire soon.

It’s reported agents have offered Kabasele to Fener and they are now considering signing him in this transfer window.

According to Takvim, the Watford player is a possibility for the Super Lig club, but they are waiting for Ersun Yanal’s thoughts on the defender before making a final decision.

The Istanbul club’s manager will want to bring in a central defender for next season and they’ve been linked with other players in recent weeks.

Kabasele joined Watford for €7m in 2016 and played 21 games in the Premier League last season.

The 28 year old is under contract at Vicarage Road until June 2021.
