Apart from replacing Wesley Fofana with Wout Faes, Leicester City didn’t spend any money on the transfer market, with the only other incoming being Alex Smithies on a free from Cardiff City.

This decision by the club’s owners was met with a lot of frustration from Brendan Rodgers and the Foxes fanbase alike, with both making their feelings very clear following the 1-0 loss to Manchester United on Thursday night.

Leicester City did seemingly try to get other players in, with Jérémie Boga reportedly one of them, but Corriere dello Sport explain that their inability to sign the Ivory Coast international also blocked the departure of Dennis Praet.

The Belgian, who hasn’t been a part of Rodgers’ plans for a while now, was trying to get a move back to Italy, where Torino wanted to welcome him.

However, Corriere explain the Serie A side ‘had to give up’ on the idea of bringing Praet back, because ‘without the signing of Boga, Leicester could not free’ the former Sampdoria man.
