According to Milliyet, Besiktas are expecting formal bids from Newcastle United, Juventus and Manchester City for Cenk Tosun during the January transfer window.
The Turkish newspaper report Besiktas officials haven’t received any offers for the 26 year old, but they are expecting approaches from other clubs in January, including Manchester City.
After the game against Sivasspor this weekend, the Besiktas board will hold a meeting with the club’s manager Senol Gunes and will discuss their strategy for January, which will include Tosun.
Manchester City have been linked with Tosun in recent weeks after reports the Premier League leaders watched the player last month when Beskitas played FC Porto in the Champions League.
At the time Besiktas board member Ahmet Urkmezgil confirmed Manchester City travelled to Istanbul to watch the Turkey international.
The English side are likely to face still competition from Juventus with claims the Serie A champions are in pole position to sign the forward.
Tosun isn’t exactly what Manchester City need right now, and perhaps their name is being thrown in for added drama.
