Despite Iliman Ndiaye politely telling Marseille that he wanted to stay at Sheffield United next season, the Ligue 1 side completely refuse to take his no for an answer.

We’ve already covered claims they were still in touch with the player’s agents to try and change his mind, and it’s now gone further than that.

Foot Mercato publish an update on the Sheffield United star’s future, and reiterate that Marseille are doing everything they can to try and get the player to the south of France.

They explain Javier Ribalta and Pablo Longoria, the respective technical director and president of the Ligue 1 club, ‘were in Faro’ to sit down with some representatives of the Blades.

As of yet, no face to face meeting has been set up with Stephen Bettis, even if ‘discussions’ are underway between the Premier League club’s CEO and the French club.

At the same time, the two Marseille directors are also talking with the family of the Sheffield United star to try and get him to agree to the move.
