AC Milan consider Aston Villa’s valuation of Matty Cash as excessive and could walk away from a potential deal for him.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who say AC Milan continue to look at Cash as an option for the right-back position and have him on their shortlist alongside names such as Emerson Royal.

They like him and have done so for some time and reports in England have claimed that the Italian giants and Aston Villa are in direct talks about him, with Villa reportedly setting a £30m asking price.

That converts to around €35m for Milan but they ‘consider the valuation excessive’ and have no interest in getting to such a figure.

Indeed, they’ve gone completely cold on the potential transfer because of that initial valuation and are making it clear it is difficult for them to continue their interest at that price point.

How Aston Villa will respond to that remains to be seen. It’s been made clear they need a sale before the end of the month because of PSR, but whether that forces them to lower their demands is debatable.

Either way, Milan are only really interested if they do, meaning there is unlikely to be progress on this potential move any time soon.
