Hellas Verona are continuing to work on a deal for Manchester City youngster Ivan Ilic, with talks progressing well.

That’s according to L’Arena, relayed by CalcioHellas.it, who say ‘something seems to be moving’ in the negotiations between the two clubs.

According to their information, Manchester City are ‘beginning to evaluate with more conviction’ the idea of letting Ilic leave on loan once again.

They would accept around €1m for the deal to take place, and there is ‘cautious optimism’ in Via Olanda that they can get the player back after his loan spell there last season.

They need to be wary of getting too excited at this moment in time, though, with French side Troyes also on the lookout and trying to get a deal done too, having the advantage of now being part of the City Group.

Indeed, that interest means the Italians have to ‘remain alert’ until the last minute and ensure they are the ones who get the deal with Manchester City.

It seems those in charge at the Etihad are changing their mind, though, and a move for Ilic could be on the cards sooner rather than later.
