With his loan expiring at the end of the month, a decision needs to be made about Rachid Ghezzal.
The Leicester City winger has been all season at Fiorentina, but it wasn’t until after the Covid-19 break that the Algerian forward got some continuity and eventually started performing.
This has led to the Italians wondering whether or not they should pay the pre-agreed €10m for Ghezzal, and it’s something they are going to think on a bit longer.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who explain Leicester are ‘pressing’ Fiorentina ‘to see if they intend to spend’ the money.
For the Serie A club, the question lies in whether the €10m they would be coughing up for Ghezzal could be used to get ‘other goals’ instead.
That’s why they are ‘carefully thinking’ and have, in the meantime, ‘tried to explore the possibility of a loan renewal’.
So far, they haven’t got an agreement from Leicester, who are also said to be in contact ‘with others teams in Serie A interested in Ghezzal’.
This will likely go on for the remainder of the week, so don’t hold your breath just yet.
