The Spanish media today highlights Real Madrid’s interest in Manchester City loanee Pedro Porro.
It’s Mundo Deportivo who now features a story on this chase, claiming the full-back is on the La Liga giants’ ‘agenda’, needing a player in his position, with no natural competition for Dani Carvajal.
Porro is enjoying a two-year loan spell at Sporting, and his move to the Lisbon side could be made permanently until the end of the season, as long as the Lions pay Manchester City a fee of €8.5m.
The player’s form in Portugal has been pretty good, and that’s why Real Madrid are now said to be ‘attentive’ to his ‘progression’. His performances also caught the attention from the Spanish national team, for whom he recently made his debut.
The Portuguese media has many times reported that Sporting already decided to buy Porro and have an agreement with the player, despite claims this week saying they’re struggling to afford that amount.
Now in case Real Madrid do try to sign him afterwards for more money, then Manchester City will certainly regret letting him leave for so little, especially because Pep Guardiola never gave the player a chance to play in England.
