There appears to be growing belief within the transfer rumour mill that Ezgjan Alioski could leave Leeds for Galatasaray.
A number of reports in Turkey have started to report this, with Fotospor doing so.
The 28-year-old’s contract at Elland Road currently expires in the summer, and the outlet believe he ‘has not agreed’ with the Yorkshire team over a renewal ‘because he had reached a principle agreement with Galatasaray’.
They mention the North Macedonian press, who also report the Süper Lig club’s interest in Alioski, with Ekipa adding that Leeds are ‘still calculating over the extension of his contract’.
However, ‘if the Premier League side does not offer him one soon, then Galatasaray want to use the whole situation and bring him to their ranks for no money’.
This all seems to be regarding a transfer in the summer, which would fall in line with claims from France that Leeds were working on getting a deal done for Jordan Amavi.
The Frenchman’s contract also expires in June, and bringing him in now would help with a potential Alioski departure, should they fail to extend his contract.
That Amavi story was dispelled by the local media, but it’s a situation worth keeping an eye on, because things move very quickly towards the end of the transfer window, and information that might be true one day may not be 24 hours later.
