Following a long saga, this could be the last story we cover regarding Andrey Santos’ loan from Chelsea to Vasco da Gama.

On Thursday morning, there were a few doubts regarding the player’s potential appearance in the weekend clash against Flamengo. That’s because his signing was still to be made official and he was yet to be registered with CBF.

It turns out Vasco then announced the deal with Chelsea, and Globo Esporte soon came up saying it’s all fine with the registration as well.

That means the soap opera is over, and after having already trained with the squad this week, Andrey is clear to play in the big Rio de Janeiro derby at the weekend.

Chelsea are only loaning the midfielder to Vasco until the end of June, as the Blues hope that by then he’ll already have the necessary points for a work permit for the Premier League.

Brazil interim manager Ramon Menezes is on Friday calling up the squad which will play the next friendlies, and in case Andrey is in that list, that will be big help for him to get that visa.
