With a book about his career about to be released, Pedro has had a lot to think about lately, including his transfer to Chelsea.

Struggling to adapt to the Premier League at first, the 29-year-old appears to be enjoying life at Stamford Bridge under Antonio Conte far more than he did under José Mourinho.

A regular for the Blues since the Italian’s decision to switch to three at the back, the former Barcelona star gave an interview to La Opinion de Tenerife about “Campeones de todo”, the book penned by Manoj Daswani, outlining the careers of both Pedro and basketball star Sergio Rodriguez.

The pair, both born in Tenerife, have gone on to have exciting careers in their respective sports, and La Opinion asked the Chelsea star how things were going under his new manager.

He said: “We’re all getting along well with the new system. We see how well we’re working in training, and we’re on a great winning streak, playing well and getting results. The path is to continue step by step, game by game, to reach our objectives.”

With Chelsea vs Manchester City scheduled for this weekend, La Opinion also could resist interrogating Pedro about playing against Guardiola, his former manager at Barcelona.

He explained: “Of course it’ll be a special day due to how much Guardiola means in my career. It’s a key game for us, it’s first against third and there’s only one point between us.”

The winger was also asked about Cesc Fabregas, with whom he has played both at Barcelona and now at Chelsea, who is having a difficult period, spending more time on the bench than on the pitch.

Pedro said: “He isn’t playing much with the team, but he’s training really well, and I’m sure that he will have his chances soon.”

With only 87 minutes of Premier League football under his belt this season, it seems unlikely that Fabregas will remain in Conte’s plans much longer, regardless of what the Italian manager says publicly.
