Here’s some news about Marco van Ginkel, a player who many Chelsea fans may have forgotten about.
The Blues signed the midfielder in a €9.4m deal from Vitesse back in 2014. And despite a first season at Stamford Bridge where he made four appearances for the first team, he ended up disappearing a little.
Van Ginkel had loan spells at AC Milan, Stoke City and PSV. Even though he won a Dutch league title, he was picked up a bad injury there, and hasn’t played a game since 2018.
Now as he works to get back in action, it seems he could return to the Eindhoven side. That’s what Voebal International reports today.
The story says it’s more likely that he’s arriving at PSV on a loan transfer. His contract with Chelsea expires in 2021, so he’d either renew it before moving, or would be free to leave the club next summer.
Voetbal International makes it clear that Van Ginkel is not available to play for PSV yet, as it should take a little longer until he is completely fit.
