It seems Chelsea had something to keep an eye on in Portugal this weekend.

According to newspaper A Bola, the Blues sent a scout for the league match between FC Porto and Moreirense.

That was a great night to see some talents from the Dragons, as they had a superb performance that resulted in a 5-0 win.

As usual, the newspaper doesn’t seem to know exactly who Chelsea were scouting. It’s just said the Blues’ emissaries were accompanied by people from Borussia Dortmund and Fiorentina.

Porto left-back Wendell was picked by most of the Portuguese media as the man of the match, as besides his great performance on his flank, the 30-year-old also scored a brace and had his best performance since his arrival at the club.

The Dragons’ win also had great displays from João Mário, Alan Varela and Franscisco Conceição. That’s a young trio which could certainly draw Chelsea’s attention.

The Blues haven’t been linked to any Porto players recently. Some rumours in the summer said they’d like to sign goalkeeper Diogo Costa, but that’s a story which disappeared.
