In the last transfer window, Lazio’s Sergej Milinković-Savić was linked with a move to Manchester United as a replacement for Paul Pogba, provided the World Cup winner left Old Trafford.
The Red Devils retained the Frenchman, and decided against bringing in any midfielder. Milinković-Savić also continued with the Serie A side.
TuttoMercatoWeb now claims the midfielder has caught Chelsea’s attention, which has resulted in a club official travelling to Celtic Park on Thursday evening.
Celtic registered a 2-1 victory over Lazio, thanks to goals from Christopher Jullien and Ryan Christie, and it’s stated the Blues had a scout travel to Celtic Park to watch the clash.
The Serbia international played the entire match for the Serie A side and the Italian website adds Milinković-Savić was in the spotlight. Chelsea’s scout made a list and it’s reported the Lazio star’s name was highlighted on it.
For now, TMW only states the Europa League winners scouted Milinković-Savić, but provide no additional details.
There’s no claim of Chelsea interest in any Celtic players, but then it’s hard to believe Tuttomercatoweb have seen what the scout wrote down.
