Olivier Giroud to Inter Milan is increasingly looking like a transfer Inter Milan can get over the line soon.
With the Italian club trying to sign several Premier League players this month, it’s been thought in recent days that Giroud is the closest to making the switch.
Given his lack of game time at Chelsea so far this season, and with his prospects not looking great under Frank Lampard, a January exit is something which has been reported on for some time.
Didier Deschamps has also dropped hints about Giroud needing minutes so that he’s ready for Euro 2020, and that has likely had a big impact on the striker.
Sportmediaset report the deal is now so close that a medical could be held ‘over the weekend’. There’s a draft agreement with the player, and his agent is set to travel to Milan tomorrow to finalise the details.
According to the claims, Chelsea will receive €4.5m plus another €2m in bonus payments, and there’s been ‘great progress’ in talks between the two clubs.
