Following the return of Frank Lampard to Chelsea as caretaker manager, it seems the Blues’s board also tried to work on another return to Stamford Bridge.

According to Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport, the Premier League side considered signing José Mourinho as their new boss.

That information is nearly hidden, as it’s brought at the end of a story regarding a potential takeover at AS Roma.

There it’s claimed that Mourinho is not concerned about that, as he’s focused on his work on the pitch and willing to continue at the club.

‘Proof’ of it is said to be the rejection of a return to Chelsea, as that showed up as a possibility for next season.

Corriere Dello Sport writes that a Chelsea chief called Mourinho to meet him and include him in their wish-list, along with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Julian Nagelsmann.

The Portuguese boss, however, reportedly wants to speak to Roma’s owners and will only then consider his future, and doesn’t seem that desperate for a return to the Stamford Bridge right now.
