As Valencia continue looking for a new striker, it’s now time for Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi to be included on the list.

According to Super Deporte on Thursday, the Spanish side’s priority would still be to sign Simone Zaza from West Ham, but as they had a meeting to analyse other names, Batshuayi is now also on the table.

It makes you wonder why Zaza has ever been first choice.

Valencia have reportedly made a formal request to Chelsea to know the conditions of a loan, but it seems the Blues’ answer wasn’t very encouraging.

Antonio Conte doesn’t want to get rid of the player now, nor does the striker wants to leave Chelsea. He feels he’s just arrived and still has much to show.

Batshuayi has only one goal in the Premier League so far. It’s obviously not what you expect from a €39m striker, but it doesn’t necessarily mean they will let him go after only a few months.

Diego Costa’s recent form has been excellent, so as a backup striker, the Belgian international will keep having to wait for his chances. The player seems ok with that too.

Back to Zaza it is then.
