Chelsea are already in discussion with Real Madrid over a loan deal to bring Eden Hazard back to Stamford Bridge.

That’s according to journalist and YouTuber Ramón Álvarez de Mon, who says that negotiations are well underway to bring the Belgian back to London.

Hazard has endured a torrid time in the Spanish capital since his €100m move from Chelsea in July 2019.

He arrived at the Bernabeu as one of the best players in Europe after a stunning seven-year spell with the Blues that had seen him score 110 goals and register 92 assists in 352 games for the club.

He’s gotten nowhere near that level in Spain, with injuries meaning he has managed just 65 appearances in all competitions and a tally of six goals and ten assists in those games.

His poor return has often seen him linked with a move away from the club, who would seemingly be happy to bring his miserable spell to an end and get his wages off the books too.

Chelsea are regularly named as an option should he leave, and according to De Mon, talks are already underway to make a return happen.

“I’m not saying it’s a done deal, but I know that there are negotiations between Real Madrid and Chelsea for the loan of Hazard,” Bernabeu Digital report him saying.

“There are other Premier League clubs interested in him, including Newcastle, but the most advanced issue is with the Blues.

“They are discussing what percentage of the fee each would assume. In a loan of this type, Real Madrid will have to assume part of the salary.

“Although Real Madrid would have enough salary limit to be able to sign Mbappé and Haaland only with the departures of Marcelo, Bale and Isco, the club likes to be very tidy.

“The departure of the players who finish their contracts will free up around 60 million euros, most of which will be ‘eaten’ by Mbappé. To get Haaland in and not have any kind of financial mess, you need to provide an exit.

“And Hazard’s exit could save you around 20 million euros, even if you assume part of his wage bill. Those 20 kilos would be very important to assume part of the cost that the Norwegian would have.

“They would be two operations that would be quite connected to each other. If tomorrow I am assured that Hazard leaves at the end of the season, the next minute I imagine Haaland at Real Madrid.”
