Atlético Mineiro and Chelsea are still sorting the last details for Nathan’s loan at the Brazilian side to be renewed.
As reported by Globo Esporte, the clubs already have a verbal agreement, but the London side are still to send the paperwork for the move to be complete.
The clubs are expected to close the deal this week, however, it’s unlikely that Nathan will be available for Atlético’s game on Tuesday, since he started training after his teammates.
The midfielder is set to be loaned to the club for six more months, and then the parties will discuss the possibility of a permanent move.
Nathan’s contract with Chelsea was supposed to expire at the end of this season, but speaking to sources close to the negotiations, Sport Witness has been told that there was a clause which has allowed the club to renew it automatically.
So the Blues have no risk of losing him for free this year.
