Earlier this week, we covered a story from Eindhovens Dagblad in Holland regarding PSV’s continuous interest in Marco van Ginkel, currently recovering from a knee surgery he underwent over the summer.
With just 18 months or so left on his deal, the Dutch midfielder’s only chance of making Chelsea some money is next June, and that’s when the Eredivisie side were hoping to get their opportunity.
There were maybe hopes of a move in January, should he recover in time to help PSV out in the latter stages of the campaign, but that was always very optimistic, but Thursday afternoon saw the same outlet put an end to that.
Eindhovens Dagblad report it is now ‘unlikely’ the midfielder sees any football action this season, as he is taking ‘all the time’ needed to ensure a full recovery from his knee surgery in order to be ‘pain free’ going forward.
‘Focusing’ on the 2019-20 season, ED do make it clear ‘no date’ can be set for his return as things stand, but that PSV ‘do remain interested’ for a transfer in the future.
It all depends on what Chelsea plan to do with the 26-year-old.
Maybe Sarri likes him?
