Chelsea have reportedly made an approach to sign Corinthians youngster Pedro Victor, better known as Pedrinho.

The 18-year-old is currently playing in the Copa São Paulo de Juniores, Brazil’s biggest U20 tournament, and has apparently attracted interest from Chelsea’s scouts.

The advanced midfielder is one of the most important players of the squad, and had played a big part in the campaign which led the club to the final which takes place on Wednesday.

According to Jorge Nicola from Brazil’s Yahoo, Chelsea have already made contact with Corinthians for the transfer.

The journalist also interviewed the Brazilian club’s Youth Levels Director Fausto Bittar, who didn’t really wanted to hype up the situation: “What I can guarantee is that we will not talk to anyone about selling before the cup final. And Corinthian’s idea is to keep all the boys, so they can be used in the first team.”

Earlier this month, it was also reported that Chelsea were keeping tabs on the Flamengo forward Vinicius Junior. The 16-year-old also impressed in the same tournament, but his side were knocked-out by Corinthians in the quarter-finals.

One of Timão’s goals was scored by… Pedrinho.
