Chelsea youngster David Datro Fofana will be returning to Stamford Bridge in the summer as Union Berlin ‘are not satisfied’ with his performances on loan this season.

That’s according to SportBILD, who say the striker will be sent back to London after failing to make the grade in the Bundesliga.

Union were officially knocked out of the Champions League last night after defeat to Real Madrid meaning focus is now on the Bundesliga and ensuring they’re not relegated from there.

Their current precarious predicament means that long-term planning is proving to be rather difficult, a problem for the club as 11 players will be out of contract or at the end of their loan deals.

Fofana is one of the latter after joining from Chelsea in the summer as part of the German club’s major efforts to build a squad for a year in the Champions League.

He’s barely made an impact, though, with no goals or assists in the Bundesliga to date meaning the Berliners ‘are not satisfied’ with him and will be sending him back to Chelsea.

All in all, it’s not been a great move for him, and the club and it seems everyone is keen for it to end, meaning it could even be something to keep an eye on in the January transfer window.
