If you are a Chelsea fan and want an update about the situation surrounding the Blues’ interest in Victor Osimhen, then Corriere dello Sport on Friday have you covered.
The newspaper have a big article about the Nigeria international’s situation in Naples, where the Serie A side would ideally like to tie him down to a new contract.
There have been talks, as his agent and Aurelio De Laurentiis ‘sat around a table and reopened the door for the renewal’ of his current contract, but that hasn’t stopped Chelsea from snooping around.
The idea would be to add an extra year on his current deal, taking it to 2026, but they want to make sure it falls within the player’s wishes, which would be a salary of around €10m/year, as well as a release clause of over €100m, potentially similar to Kim Min-jae’s old one, meaning ‘scalable’ depending on the club that comes knocking.
They add Osimhen has ‘always been a fan’ of the Blues, while Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain are also added to this list.
Good news for Chelsea, who appear to be at the front of the queue, but any transfer would have to go through Aurelio De Laurentiis, which is never an easy avenue to navigate.
