On Tuesday, we covered the never-dying rumour of Liverpool’s interest in AS Roma’s Emerson Palmieri, with Gazzetta dello Sport the guilty party.

The selling price was said to be agreed by Roma at around €25m, as the club were considering making a profit on the Brazilian if possible, and he’s barely played for them, considered a luxury back up for Aleksandr Kolarov.

Well, the very same newspaper on Wednesday claim that Chelsea are also interested, and, after all, it makes sense.

Said to be after Alex Sandro, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Antonio Conte consider other options, with the Brazilian considerably cheaper than his Juventus compatriot.

With only Kenedy as an apparent viable back up for Marcos Alonso, Chelsea could certainly do with a natural fit in the role to help the Spaniard, who has only missed five games and could be in danger of getting tired during the second half of the season.

The Blues are now said to be, over the past few days, pushing even harder than Liverpool (or Juventus, who are also apparently interested).

It’s also worth pointing out Il Messaggero are also running a similar story, meaning something has been leaked from somewhere.

Maybe Roma didn’t get the response they wanted from their ‘briefing’, so they’ve decided to chuck the Blues into the mix now too.
