Jules Kounde to Chelsea looks like it’ll be a story which continues for the rest of the transfer window.
It had been expected the Blues would return for the defender after securing the signing of Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan. That happened on August 12th, and more than ten days later there’s still been no progress on the Kounde case.
ABC Sevilla report that at the Spanish club they expect Chelsea will make an offer ‘in the next few hours’. According to the report, Sevilla believe this because that’s the situation the player’s agent, Jonathan Kebe, has presented to them.
Monchi, the club’s sporting director, is ‘combing the market’ and already has several options ready to replace Kounde, should he leave for Chelsea.
Still, Sevilla are somewhat in the dark, and trusting the agent’s word, until that expected offer actually arrives. If it doesn’t come soon, then the transfer obviously starts to look less likely, given the short time left in the window.
Sevilla face Getafe on Monday evening, and should the defender play then that’s a clear indication no offer arrived today, or it wasn’t acceptable to Monchi.
