Fotospor report Chelsea are considering signing Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir as a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The Spaniard, who joined the Premier League club from Athletic Club Bilbao in the summer 2018 window, has been going through a difficult spell at Chelsea, with Frank Lampard preferring Willy Caballero in the Premier League and Europe.
Chelsea could be in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer to replace Kepa, and Fotospor claim Cakir may be the man to arrive at Stamford Bridge.
It’s claimed Chelsea are getting information on a regular basis about Cakir from their former player and coach Eddie Newton, who’s currently working as Huseyin Cimsir’s assistant at Trabzonspor.
The 23 year old goalkeeper has been in excellent form for Trabzonspor this season, making 36 appearances for his boyhood club in all competitions.
Cakir’s performances have been key in his side’s title challenge and they currently lie second in the table with a game in hand.
His contract with the Super Lig side will expire at the end of June 2024.
