Chelsea have ‘already moved’ to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland this summer.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who present the Blues as serious competition to Barcelona for the highly sought-after youngster.
Haaland is expected to be one of the hottest targets in the transfer window this summer, with pretty much every big club keen to sign him following another sensational year from him.
Barcelona are one of those who are keen, with them having identified the need to add a top-level striker to their squad.
Haaland is considered ‘the big dream’, and even his €110m cost is considered ‘strategic’ given his age and his potential development.
Barcelona intend to try and secure his signature but will have to compete with several big rivals if they are to get him.
Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea, among others, ‘have already made their moves’ to try and win the race, although Laporta’s good relationship with Mino Raiola could give them an advantage.
This is not the first time that Chelsea have been linked, of course, having also been named as an interested party in Germany on more than one occasion.
There, though, the feeling is that they won’t be able to get him ahead of competition deemed more prestigious and attractive to the player himself.
It seems, though, they are going to try regardless of that, perhaps hoping Roman Abramovich’s money can help convince Haaland as it has done plenty of players down the years.
